Warehouse

Warehouse Manager

STIHL Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG in Germany, is a leader in the distribution of chain saws and handheld outdoor power equipment in Canada. We have an immediate opening at our London head office for a full-time Warehouse Manager.


Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supervise a department of 19 Material Handlers
  • Creation of daily work schedules to ensure adequate coverage in all areas of warehouse
  • Train new staff on day-to-day responsibilities as well as certifying staff on forklifts and fall arrest
  • Participate in recruitment of all warehouse personnel
  • Work with transportation companies ensuring best pricing is obtained
  • Schedule repairs on warehouse equipment, racking and conveyors
  • Ensure all PM and safety inspections are performed on forklifts ensuring Ministry guidelines are met
  • Responsible for forklift and working at heights training for all staff
  • Ensure that all transportation of dangerous goods outgoing shipments are in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Responsible for overall day-to-day operations of the warehouse including reporting, monitoring of wave locations, ensuring all orders are completed within company cut off times and organization and cleanliness of warehouse

Skills & Qualifications include:

  • Five plus in a supervisory role within a warehouse setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with various departments and develop collaborative relationships
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and versatility are essential
  • Excellent knowledge of processes relating to transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) with experience in lithium-ion battery shipments
  • Experienced forklift operator a must
  • Train the Trainer certificates in forklift certification and fall arrest/working at heights
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of outdoor power equipment an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of SAP a definite asset
  • Comfortable in a data driven shipping environment
  • Keen focus on providing unparalleled service to an extensive customer base

Commercial Solutions Specialist

This position is a work-from-home role with significant travel expectations.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Provide product and application training to support and grow the B.C. marketsProvide product field demonstrations, mainly throughout B.C.Conduct service schools, Dealer support, end-user safety, maintenance and application training Regional/Provincial travel  minimum 3 days per week of overnight travel by road and/or airDepending on where employee residesReporting – field reports, trip reports, internal reportingProvide support to the Technical and Sales teams across Canada

Purchasing

Purchasing Manager

STIHL Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of ANDREAS STIHL AG & Co. KG in Germany, is a leader in the distribution of chain saws and handheld outdoor power equipment in Canada. We have an immediate opening at our London head office for a full-time Purchasing Manager.

 

The key responsibilities for this position include:

 

  • Supervise a department of 5 including Spare Parts & Accessories Planner, Purchasing Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator, Inventory Coordinator and Inventory Clerk
  • Manage and foster in excess of 200 vendor relationships
  • Procurement of intercompany and third-party goods utilizing a custom software system.Tasks include: forecast regeneration, communication with production facilities, scheduling of jobs, and demand planning for various promotions
  • Planning of all inventory requirements for Canada
  • Oversee inventory item Masterfile transactions
  • Ensure that the integrity of inventory valuation is maintained for all warehouse locations
  • Ensure Corporate goals regarding fill rates and service levels are achieved and maintained
  • Oversee the scheduling of inventory to be transferred between 3 distribution centers
  • Negotiation of freight contracts
  • Responsible for pricing negotiations and new product sourcing
  • Co-ordination of all Purchasing Department activities including supervision of team members to ensure effective results
     

Skills & Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) Designation or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Designation preferred
  • Five plus years’ experience in a Purchasing role and supervisory experience
  • Exceptional skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with various departments and develop collaborative relationships

Sales

REGIONAL MANAGER, Gaspesie, Beauce, Bois-Francs, Bellechasse and North Eastern New Brunswick

KG in Germany, is a leader in the distribution of chain saws and handheld outdoor power equipment in Canada.  We have an immediate opening for a  Regional Manager in Quebec.  The Territory includes Gaspesie, Beauce, Bois-Francs, Bellechasse and North Eastern New Brunswick.  This is a full-time permanent position working remotely and reports to the Sales Manager, Quebec & Eastern Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with our dealer network to ensure they have sufficient and appropriate supply of STIHL products for their respective markets Assist our dealer network with sales growth initiatives & advertising support Develop end-user contacts with construction contractors, landscapers, municipal organizations and government agenciesPrepare field reports, trip reports and other internal reporting at regular intervalsConduct product training sessions to targeted user groups and dealership staff membersManage territory with approximately 75-100 overnights per yearSupport corporate growth initiatives by managing dealer network coverage in the assigned territory recommending  changes as required  Maintain close contact with Credit department keeping up to date on market and dealer developments and assist as necessaryMust be willing to travel within the territory. Some weekend work and evenings is required. Company vehicle provided to travel approximately 50,000 km/year.

QUALIFICATIONS:     

  • Knowledge of STIHL products
  • Extensive knowledge of the outdoor power equipment industry
  • Previous sales experience & relationship management experience
  • Experience with conducting product training sessions for groups of people
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and versatility are essential
  • Fully Bilingual both written and oral
