Thanks to the pre-sharpened diamond segments, the 36 GBM cut-off chain in the STIHL GS 461 ensures top performance from the very first cut - without the need to pre-sharpen the segments. This STIHL chain has a diamond segment on every chain link for very fast cutting. What's more, the bumped drive links in the chain design guarantee smooth action with lower vibration levels.
The guide bar features a system of channels that ensures the guide bar and sprocket nose are continuously flushed with water. Thanks to the front-facing positioning of the nozzles in the sprocket cover, the operator doesn't get wet when the tool is in use. The bar also has a hardened chain track an additional hole for attaching the saw chain, which extends the tensioning range.
The new STIHL GS 461 features a modern, low-emission STIHL delayed stratified scavenging technology. Depending on how you use the machine, stratified scavenging engines consume up to 20% less fuel and produce less emissions, compared to STIHL 2-stroke engines of the same performance class. The delayed stratified scavenging engine also features high torque over a wide rpm range.
The long-life air filter system includes a HD2 filter for effective filtration – even of fine dust particles. The HD2 filter is easily cleaned using the STIHL special spray, but you can also use everyday soap or a vinegar and water mix. An additional filter is positioned behind the HD2 filter, to filter out even the finest of particles and to protect the suction area of the carburettor from dust. This ensures longer service intervals and the best protection of the engine against wear.
Strong vibrations on the handles of the tool over a long period of time can lead to circulation problems in hands and arms. This is why STIHL has developed its top-quality anti-vibration system. This system ensures a marked reduction in vibrations from the engine and working tools that would otherwise be felt through the handles.
