WORK SHOES>: PROTECTION AND COMFORT FOR DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS

Whatever work you’re doing, you need to feel comfortable and secure in your shoes. However, depending on the activity in question, you may need additional protection. That’s why we have various comfy work shoes in our range, for different uses and weather conditions - from safety shoes through to leather and rubber chainsaw boots. These are ideal for forestry, landscape maintenance and fruit growing work, as well as in the garden or for road construction.

CUT PROTECTION BOOTS FOR CHAINSAW WORK

Protecting your feet while you’re working is important, especially if you’re working with chainsaws. developed special STIHL chainsaw boots with cut protection. In these, we use fleeces made from high-tech synthetic fibres, which have a damping, delaying effect. The aim is to slow down the chain so that it stops before it has got through the cut protection layer, which covers the entire forefoot, as the areas most at risk are the midfoot and arch.

CUT PROTECTION LEVELS FOR CHAINSAW BOOTS

Boots with protection level 1 guarantee cut protection at a chain speed of up to 20°m/s. Chainsaw boots with protection level 2 will protect you against injuries at running speeds of 24°m/s. More often than not, injuries occur as a result of contact when the chain is coming to a stop. STIHL chainsaw boots with protection level 1 will help to reduce injuries like this. However, no boots will guarantee complete safety.

It’s also worth noting that our cut protection boots are extremely hard-wearing and their bending strength and resistance is tested in a laboratory. In a standardised procedure, they need to withstand 100,000 bends without cracking. What’s more, all of our cut protection models meet the requirements of the European standards EN ISO 17249 and EN ISO 20345.

STEEL TOE CAPS ON ALL WORK SHOES

All of our safety work shoes and boots (even our rubber boots) boast robust steel toe caps to protect your toes from falling objects. After all, when you’re working with chainsaws, brushcutters or hedge trimmers, your toes are extremely vulnerable.

LEATHER BOOTS: STABILITY ON EVERY TERRAIN

If you are working on a hillside or need to do a mowing job over a large area, we recommend some models of our men and women's work shoes, such as our STIHL lace-up chainsaw boots. They are water-repellent, hardwearing and the natural material helps to prevent unpleasant odours. What’s more, the breathable inner lining circulates air inside the shoe and draws out moisture.
