Personal protective equipment
For maximum safety while working you need to wear specified clothing and protective equipment as well as following safe working practices when operating a brushcutter. Clothing must be sturdy and snug-fitting, but allow complete freedom of movement. Never wear anything that could catch in wood or scrub. Do not wear a scarf, tie or jewellery when operating the machine. Long hair must be securely tied back.
Wear facial protection and always wear goggles.
Wear personal hearing protection, such as ear defenders.
Heavy-duty gloves, preferably made of leather.
Sturdy shoes with non-slip soles.
Note
It's also essential to observe the precautions in your Brushcutter Instruction Manual.
Protective clothing is not enough on its own!
Protective clothing cannot provide total protection. Protective clothing is not a substitute for safe working practices. That is why it is important to observe the safety precautions in your power tool Instruction Manual.
